E. Leaven's Food Truck Hits The Streets Jan. 25

New, 1 comment

Although January may not seem like the ideal time to launch a food truck in Chicago, when the offerings include warm matzo ball soup and hearty beef chili, it may not be the worst idea. Starting Wednesday, Jan. 25, e. leaven, the breakfast, lunch and bakery spot exported from Jackson Hole, Wyo., to downtown Chicago, will launch its food truck.

In addition to the soups, the truck will offer breakfast items featuring an aji-braised shortrib "piewich;" sandwiches such as the turkey and brie on multigrain; a variety of salads; and dessert that includes Parisien macarons, rugelach and various cakes in a cup. The menu will have weekly specials and seasonal items as well. The hope is to get as many items as possible from the restaurant on to the truck at some point. Prices will range from $1 to $10 per item.

The truck will make its way across the city and will also be available for catering and private parties. You can track its location on Twitter or Facebook. The truck is bright orange and measures over 24 feet, so it'll likely be a hard one to miss.
