Food Truck Ordinance Buried

New, 1 comment

Slide-Ride-Nida-sm.jpgDespite a growing interest for food trucks in Chicago, the ordinance to allow cooking onboard trucks is buried in city council committees. The bill's chief sponsor, Ald. Scott Waguespack, claims the ordinance is stuck in two committees, headed by Ald. Emma Mitts from Austin and Ald. Tom Tunney, from Lakeview who, interestingly, also owns a restaurant, Ann Sather. Tunney now says he wants to hold a hearing on the bill, but that it needs to be scheduled with a meeting with the licensing committee, which Mitts chairs. [Crain's]
