Barrio Urban Taqueria is celebrating its first anniversary by helping raise money for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Starting today, chef Martin Cabrera is launching his "Fight Hunger" menu, which features a number of dishes like nachos de barrio, enchiladas en mole poblano and chuletas de puerco where a portion of sales will benefit GCFD.
The "Fight Hunger" menu will be available through Jan. 23. The next day on Jan. 24, the restaurant will offer a number of specials for just $1 each, including various tacos, house margaritas and cans of Tecate beer. Barrio will also host a free Oro Azul tequila tasting on Jan. 24 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. with live music. Mark your calendar.
