Once again, Baconfest Chicago has gathered some of the city's best chefs to participate in its annual porcine festival, which takes place at the UIC Forum on April 14. The event, for which VIP tickets swiftly sold out, will be split into "lunch" and "dinner" sessions with about 50 chefs cooking at each.
Last year, a slew of creative offerings like banana panna cotta with cherry wood-smoked bacon and bacon Manhattans were passed around. So what's on deck this year? That we don't know yet, but with diverse crew of chefs like Nate Sears (Vie), Mike and Pat Sheerin (The Trenchermen), Heather Terhune (Sable Kitchen), Art Smith (Table Fifty-Two), Randy Zweiban (Province), Art and Chelsea Jackson (Pleasant House Bakery), Harold Jurado (Chizakaya) and so many more preparing bacon dishes, you're bound to need to keep the Lipitor nearby. Visit the Baconfest website for the full chef rundown. And good luck getting those $75 GA tickets when they're released in February.
