Is Soul Food Leaving Chicago?

New, 1 comment

Capt-Hard-Times.jpgIf you haven't had soul food in a while, you may want to get on it. The AP reports that with the decline of Chicago's black population by 17 percent over the last decade, a number of the city's soul food restaurants, like Army & Lou's, have closed. And the rest that remain, like Captain's Hard Time Dining & Josephine's Cooking, don't have the same amount of business as in the past. Sure, some of that has to do with people eating healthier, but who doesn't need some juicy fried chicken and waffles from time to time? [AP]
