Bridgeport Pasty Truck Launches Today, Landing in Loop

If there ever were a food type made for quick eating and that's perfect to be sold off a food truck, it's a pasty. What's a pasty? A small, meat- or veggie-filled handheld pie that's easily eaten while on the go. Otherwise, a great lunchtime item for busy Loop workers. So with that, Bridgeport Pasty launches its food truck today and will hit the Loop later this morning.

The petite electric vehicle carrying the savory pies will land at Dearborn and Monroe around 11 a.m. today. On board you will find two different pasties: Chic Pot Pie (chicken, peas, carrots, bechamel and seasoning) and Veggie (spinach, mushroom, Gruyere, onion, bechamel and seasoning). A third pasty, the Yooper (beef, onion, potato, rutabaga, garlic, parsley and seasoning), will debut either later this week or early next. Each pasty is $8 and the truck will also sell La Croix sparkling water. Follow Bridgeport Pasty on Twitter for updates.
