If you are looking for a quick jaunt out of the city tomorrow night to celebrate the flavors of fall, the Evanston Harvest Celebration is the place to be. The event will feature chefs from The Publican, Anteprima, Quince and Stained Glass. Each chef will create a dish that features local fall products from farms including 1st Orchards, Green Acres, Henry’s Farm, Heartland Meats, Kinnikinnick, Lake Breeze Organics, M&D Farm, Nichols, and River Valley Mushrooms.
The event will celebrate the Mavens of the Market, the small group of women who started the Evanston farmer's market in 1975 and the three farmers who participated. Their effort helped make the Evanston farmers markets one of the oldest continuously operated farmers markets in Illinois. Proceeds from the event will benefit Friends of the Evanston Farmers Market-a non-profit dedicated to expanding the visibility, accessibility and popularity of Evanston’s markets.
The event takes place from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Now We're Cookin'. Tickets are $75 and include a multi-course tasting meal and two glasses of wine. Reservations are required and can be made here.
