La Colombe Introducing New Blend, Beignets

La Colombe is introducing, Louisiane, a new small-batch coffee blend that was inspired by regional Southern cuisine. To help promote it, they're want to put a little South in your mouth. At least a little bit of the sweet kind.

At 8 a.m. on Sept. 21 and 22, the West Loop cafe and roastery will give out free samples of the dark and smoky Louisiane coffee, which is blended with La Colombe's Haitian Blue Forest bean. They'll also give out freshly made beignets, the decadent fried dough treat known as the "state doughnut of Louisiana."

La Colombe founders J.P. Iberti and Todd Carmichael came up with their own beignet recipe and Public Hotel and Pump Room pastry chef Kady Yon will be on site making beignets using their recipe. What's the tie in? The hotel serves La Colombe coffee. If you can't make it, but still want the beignets, grab the recipe here.
