Stephanie Izard Announces National Charity Book Tour

New, 2 comments

In June, Stephanie Izard made a pledge to raise $500,000 for Share Our Strength, a national organization that strives to stamp out childhood hunger. To support that goal, the Girl & The Goat chef will kick off a multi-city tour to promote her forthcoming cookbook, Girl in the Kitchen. The first stop will be Denver on Sept. 29, where she will prepare a special dinner with local chefs Len Symensma and Alex Seidel. While in the Mile High City, she'll attend the Great American Beer Festival and hold an on-site book signing.

She then returns home to Chicago on Oct. 5 for the official launch party for the cookbook. After Chicago, Izard will crisscross the country, hosting dinners with local chefs like Randy Zweiban, Jen Biesty, Spike Mendelsohn and Missy Robbins in places like Scottsdale, Ariz., Nashville, Boston, San Francisco, Atlanta and Miami. On Jan. 23, she'll host a special dinner at Girl & The Goat with guest chefs John Besh, Jose Andres and Kevin Willmann. And according to the map on her website, it looks like some spots in Texas may also get the treatment.

Tickets to the first dinner in Denver are currently on sale. Check the website for on-sale dates in your city.
