Jewel Kicks Off "Give a Little, Feed a Lot" Campaign

Helping Chicago's hungry just got a lot easier. Throughout the entire month of September, Chicago-area residents can drop off food or cash donations at all Jewel-Osco stores throughout the general area for the "Give a Little, Feed a Lot" campaign, which is part of the greater Hunger Action Month. Those donations will go directly to any number of food banks, including the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Lakeview Pantry, the Northern Illinois Food Bank, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana and more.

The campaign kicked off this morning at a Jewel location in Lakeview. U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley (D - IL) and former Chicago Bears player Glen Kozlowski were on hand to speak. Jewel also donated a palette of food worth about $2,000 directly to Lakeview Pantry. With the numbers of people going hungry rising, this is an easy way to help your fellow citizens. Last year, more than $2 million in cash and food was donated.
