After nearly having to close last fall due to serious financial issues, Heartland Cafe now has a lot to celebrate. The Rogers Park restaurant will celebrate its 35th anniversary this week with a series of parties and theme nights. The festivities kick off on Aug. 11 (the actual anniversary) with the "retro menu prix-fixe night" and continues through Aug. 14 with various bands playing, including Funkadesi, which played one of its first shows ever at the Heartland.
