If you don't feel like waiting in a long line and listening to heavy metal, you have an alternate means of getting some Kuma's Corner burgers ... but just today only. Kuma's head chef Amalia Obermeire-Smith is in the test kitchen at Deerfield-based D.C. Sarnies today making burgers on breads baked by the restaurant's parent company, Highland Baking Company.
Obermeire-Smith will be cooking three burgers—the Kuma Burger (cheddar, applewood bacon, fried egg) for $10; Plague Bringer (roasted garlic mayo, tortilla strips, housemade hot sauce, fresh garlic, pepper jack cheese, sliced jalapenos) for $12; and the High on Fire (sriracha hot chili sauce, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, grilled pineapple, sweet chili paste) for $13. The burgers will be available all day today and the restaurant is open until 10 p.m.
