Hot Dog Scandal

Dog-Stop-sm.jpgYou've heard stories about corrupt politicians, but about a case of hot dog laundering? OK, maybe not laundering, but according to the Sun-Times, since 2005 the town of Cicero has spent $120,000 at the Northwest Side hot dog stand, the Dog Stop. This wouldn't really be too much of an issue except that a Cicero town board member's two sons work at the joint, they're "highly paid consultants" for Cicero and more than $26,000 was earmarked as TIF money. What? They couldn't find good hot dogs at a stand in Cicero? [Sun-Times]
