A new patisserie and cafe is coming to the Loop on Monday featuring housemade pastries and sweets, breakfast, lunch and light dinner. Toni Patisserie and Café as it is called is the creation of Toni Marie Cox who currently owns Toni Sweets in Hinsdale. The 30 seat French-inspired café will have an open kitchen and art deco style architecture.
For breakfast you can expect to see quiche Lorraine; basque tortilla with confit potatoes, onions and roasted red peppers; and Viennoiserie (assorted breakfast baked goods). Lunch and dinner brings French-inspired fresh salads and sandwiches, along with savory plates of charcuterie, cheese and smoked salmon.
The pastries and sweets are made from scratch as well and will rotate daily. Salted caramel and chocolate tarts; assorted French macaroons; signatures cakes like the chocolate raspberry mousse; and seasonal French entremets like mocha with hazelnut are some of the sweets you may see. Custom cakes can also be ordered with advance notice. The spot will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
