Bee Apiary Takes Off at O'Hare

Jumbo jets aren't the only things taking flight from O'Hare these days. A new 2,400 square-foot apiary with 23 beehives has been set up at the airport, employing thousands of bees to do their busy work. Now, formerly incarcerated adults employed by Sweet Beginnings are learning new skills and working to help create products from the 573 pounds of honey estimated to be sourced this year. The products—honey, candles and lotion—will be sold under the retail brand Beeline. Not a bad way to utilize formerly wasted space at the airport. [Good]
