Rogers Park May Get Urban Farm

Rogers-Park-farm.jpgRogers Park Farms, a community group devoted to local food systems, is looking to take over a two-acre vacant lot at Howard and Ashland. The Sun-Times reports that the group has plans to convert the land, which is the former home of Lerner Newspapers, into an urban farm. Ald. Joe Moore appears to support the plan, and he's bringing an ordinance before the City Council today that would authorize the city to purchase the property. More about RPF here.
