Ora Sushi, Al Dente, Jin Thai, Quay Now Open

ANDERSONVILLE—While Hamamatsu quietly closed a few weeks ago, the owners gave the space a complete overhaul with a fresh design and opened Ora Sushi. The 28-seat spot (with seven more at the sushi bar) is bright and clean, with candle fixtures on the wall and a brown and white color scheme. [EaterWire]

OLD IRVING PARK—Chef Javier Perez, who has cooked in some of Chicago's best kitchens, like Spiaggia, MK and Cibo Matto, last week opened Al Dente, an intimate American BYO spot focusing on seasonal ingredients with Italian, Mexican and French influences. [EaterWire]
