If you're getting tired of all this great pastry news, get used to it because more is coming. Last week, news broke that Stephanie Prida was heading to L20 from the Elysian and Bristol pastry chef Amanda Rockman would compete on Top Chef Just Desserts. This week, Boka Group pastry chef Kady Yon left to sign on with Public Hotel. Now, word comes that Sarah's Pastries & Candies owner Sarah Levy will compete on the Food Network Challenge.
The show, which airs on Aug. 21, will see Levy and her cake decorating partner, Sunny Lee, create a three-foot-tall moving dinosaur cake. They'll compete against three other teams for the big prize of $10,000. In honor of the event, Levy will host a viewing party at Mastro's to benefit Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation. Tickets for the event are $100, which includes food, drinks, dessert and a VIP gift bag, and can be purchased in advance. The party will start at 6 p.m. with the viewing beginning at 7 p.m.
