Curtis Duffy is leaving the building. The two Michelin-starred chef announced he's leaving Avenues to start working on his own currently unnamed concept that he hopes to open in the spring of 2012. Duffy, who was nominated for a James Beard award and won a Jean Banchet award this year, said he's still going to prepare refined food, but that he'll now have the ability to be more flexible and experimental. "We’re going to pull back just a bit and push forward at the same time. We want to have a bit more control with the food," he said. More to come ... [Trib]
