Well that didn't take very long. Just last week, Patrick Fahy announced he was leaving Blackbird after not quite two years as the restaurant's pastry chef. Now the James Beard nominee has landed at the Sofitel.
Fahy, who was invited by Cafe des Architectes' exec chef Greg Biggers to participate in April's Les Amis du Chef dinner, is now the hotel's executive pastry chef. Interestingly, Fahy has said since he recently got married he wanted to have less stress and work less hours. It doesn't seem that taking on the role of overseeing all pastry output for the hotel, which likely includes banquets, weddings and more, would lighten the stress load. Was there something more going on at Blackbird or was it just time to move on?
