The summer culinary event season is in full swing and one of 2010's best bashes, the Wine Enthusiast's Toast of the Town, is heading back to the Field Museum on June 17. The evening pulls together 35 of the city's top restaurants and guests get to walk around and taste great food while sampling more than 500 wines from around the world.
A great mix of restaurants will be on hand, including the Purple Pig, L20, The Florentine, Chizakaya, Sixteen, Shaw's Crab House, Black Dog Gelato, Heaven on Seven, Old Town Social, Province, Signature Room, Wave, Zealous and others. Sample wine pours from the likes of Castello Banfi, De Loach, S.A. Prum, Jordan, Robert Oatley, Newton, Schramsberg, Stags' Leap, Chateau St. Jean and many more.
Tickets to the event run $109 for general admission and $169 for VIP access, which gets you in the door an hour before everyone else. If you went last year, you know how crowded this bash gets so it may be worth it to shell out the extra $60 to get in early and get first dibs at the best food and wine. VIP entry starts at 6 p.m. and general admission is at 7. And if just going to an event and having fun isn't enough incentive, a portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Field Museum's education program.
