Don't you hate when you're having a good time on an outdoor patio during the week and—BAM!—it's 11 o'clock and you have to head inside? If all goes as Ald. Brendan Reilly hopes, your patio time could gain an hour. Reilly, whose ward essentially comprises River North, Gold Coast, the Loop and West Loop, has proposed allowing the 70 restaurants and bars with outdoor patios and rooftop gardens in his ward to stay open until midnight seven days a week, instead of just on Friday and Saturday nights. He said it'll be good for business as well as a benefit to European travelers who are used to going out later. Because Chicagoans usually head home on the, uh, early side. [Trib]
