The Peninsula's 10th Anniversary Bash

Peninsula-party.jpgWhat a way to mark your anniversary. The Peninsula Hotel in Chicago threw itself an elaborate soiree for its 10th anniversary, complete with stilt walkers, Chinese drummers, guests in fascinators (something we just don't get) a disco (inside Avenues) called Le Rouge, a blues club (inside The Bar) where Lonnie Brooks played, a sushi bar, a raw bar and a caviar bar, which allegedly doled out tens of thousands of dollars worth of German and Israeli caviar. More than 1,000 people reveled in the over-the-top fun. Didn't get an invite? NBC has a great gallery that recaptures the fete. [NBC]
