The rise of mini cupcakes

mini-cupcake.jpgIs the country's cupcake craze on the wane? Not really, but it may be shrinking—at least where the size of the cupcake is concerned. In an attempt to help people feel better about their cupcake addiction, many shops have started focusing on mini cupcakes with the thinking that if you eat a smaller cupcake you're taking in less sugar and carbs and therefore can feel better about yourself. But in reality, you end up eating more mini cupcakes because, well, they're just so damn cute and tasty. Eater National has a couple of graphs showcasing the rise in minis.
