More Crumbs Coming to Loop, Other Neighborhoods

If donuts became the new cupcakes in Chicago, New York missed the memo. In addition to the famed Magnolia Bakery that is on its way to Block 37 this summer, NY transplant Crumbs Bake Shop is planning to expand beyond their single six-month old Loop location. Two more Loop locations are scheduled for the near term at 134 N. LaSalle and 42 S. Clark. The LaSalle location is slated to open this summer, and they aren't stopping there.

Crumbs plans to pop-up bake shops all over Chicago and is currently scouting out additional locations in River North, Bucktown, Lincoln Park, Lakeview and Andersonville. They plan to expand out to Evanston, Schaumburg, Oak Park and Naperville as well. With a goal of over 200 new locations nationwide by 2014, it looks like cupcakes aren't going away any time soon.
