Next time you head to the beach, think about snacking on something a little tangier. Last Thursday, Rub BBQ Company opened a satellite spot down by Fullerton Beach at the Theater on the Lake building.
The small operation, currently set up on the building's patio facing the lakefront path, serves BBQ pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, as well as turkey, ham and corned beef deli sandwiches, each for $8 including chips and cole slaw. The set-up is a licensing deal of sorts for Rub and being run by an outside company, which also has the hot dog stand where Fullerton meets the path and will be out there seven days a week, weather pending.
In somewhat related news, Smoque BBQ has bottled its Memphis BBQ sauce, both the original and spicy varieties. The sauce is currently available at Smoque and online for $5.95 and will at City Provisions Deli starting this weekend. Could be something great now that summer BBQ season is in full swing.
