Looks like Chicago is about to get even more mindful burgers. Epic Burger, started by David Friedman as a healthier alternative to fast food, opened its first location in 2008 in the Loop and followed that with a spot last year in Lincoln Park.
Now Epic Burger will open its third location in the West Loop (550 W. Adams), on June 13, which coincides with the chain's third anniversary. Soon to follow in September will be a fourth location in Old Orchard shopping center in Skokie and then in November, another will open in the city. That spot will see Epic Burger land in Streeterville in the former U.S. Post Office building at 227 E. Ontario. Friedman is also scouting space to open in the Gold Coast.
Epic Burger separates itself from other fast-food burger joints by using only natural ingredients, like 100 percent natural beef, nitrate-free bacon, cage-free organic eggs and hand-cut fries. And while you can't use it to place your order, the Epic Burger iPhone app has updates on news and other useful information.
