Bistro 110 to Close After 25 Years; New Tony Mantuano Project Taking its Place

New, 8 comments

Apparently going from speaking French to Italian is quite easy. At least if you're Bistro 110. The once-venerable Gold Coast restaurant will close its doors after 25 years on August 4 and undergo a complete makeover. What will emerge in late September will be a brand new concept from Spiaggia chef/partner Tony Mantuano.

The still-unnamed project will see Mantuano, who wrote the original Bistro 110 menu, realize a dream of always wanting to open a casual yet modern Italian bar. Mantuano tells Dish that it'll have a gelato bar, a mozzarella bar, a pizza bar with a wood-burning oven and lots of small plates, salads and charcoal-grilled skewers. It'll also have breakfast where you can stand, eat and sip your espresso like they do in Italy.
