Escoffier Getting Reissued

Escoffier-Guide-Culinaire.jpgDisappointed you haven't scored tickets to Next to experience Paris 1906? Don't fret, because the book the menu was based upon, "Le Guide Culinaire" by Georges Auguste Escoffier, is being reissued. The publisher, John Wiley & Sons, is putting out a new English edition with forwards by U.K. chef Heston Blumenthal (Fat Duck) and Tim Ryan, president of the Culinary Institute of America. The book includes more than 5,000 recipes and costs $70. In the end, dinner at Next might be cheaper (taking food costs into account) ... and you wouldn't have to cook. [Trib]
