Pita Heaven Opens, Offering Fast-Casual Mediterranean

The South Loop has definitely had its share of restaurant drama in the last year. From Ole Hardwood's destructive fire to Opera closing to Gioco being shuttered and reopening, residents must be hungry. But Pita Heaven, a fast-casual spot offering authentic Mediterranean cuisine opened on Monday and will hopefully stabilize things a bit.

The spacious spot has plenty of room for dining in, but the counter service also allows for easy take away. The walls have welcoming cartoon-like art and sayings, a couple of flat-screen TVs and a exposed-brick fireplace in the middle of the room. The menu features dishes from throughout the Mediterranean region, including saganaki, tzatziki, bacon-wrapped dates, chicken pesto pannini, kabobs, grilled tilapia, pita wraps and more. And the majority of the items are under $10. Pita Heaven is open daily for lunch and dinner.
