Beard Awards Poll: Who Will Win Best Chef: Great Lakes

The James Beard Awards take place in New York in just a few hours and the event will be a who's who of the culinary world. The awards recognizing outstanding writing and journalism took place on Friday, but the star wattage really comes out tonight.

Our friends over at Eater New York have had a few polls today, asking who would win Best New Restaurant (Chicago's Girl & The Goat is nominated) and Outstanding Restaurateur (we think it should go to Lettuce Entertain You's Rich Melman). More relatable on a local scale is the Best Chef: Great Lakes category so we thought we'd run a late-afternoon poll of our own.

Four of the five chefs in the category come from Chicago, with one hailing from Michigan. Who do you think will take home the award tonight? Will North Pond's veteran chef Bruce Sherman finally nab it or will it go to a rising star like Avenues' Curtis Duffy or Schwa's Michael Carlson? Vote now.
