Montrose Beach Getting New Deck, Food, Booze

Looks like Castaways won't be the only hot spot for tossing back a few drinks along Lake Michigan this summer. The city issued a few new lakefront liquor licenses and The Dock at Montrose Beach got one. The new expansive 3,300 square-foot wood patio overlooking the beach has a soft opening scheduled for May 20 and plans to be in full swing come Memorial Day weekend.

The Dock, which sits just north of the boat house, will serve slightly more upscale fare, with items like Kobe burgers, fish tacos and seared tuna salads; the full menu will be revealed soon. And of course, there will be drinks and we can only hope the margaritas will have fresh lime and the beers will be super cold.
