Longman & Eagle Auction Off a Peacock Breakfast

Longman & Eagle is giving back to the community in a truly unique way. To benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository, they are hosting an auction and the winner will be able to attend a special peacock inspired brunch for two on June 4. Peacock eggs are very rare to the dining world given their value once matured, but Longman & Eagle was able to procure enough of them for this experience. The bidding began on Saturday and the winner will be contacted before June 3. The current bid is for $85, but there is still plenty of time left to bid.

The brunch menu features a peacock egg omelet made of three peacock eggs, porcini mushrooms, Rupert cheese, ground ramp greens, confited duck leg, summer truffle and fresh clover. The omelet will be accompanied by a Werp Farms green salad with pickled ramps and curry vinaigrette. Battered peacock egg, cardamom and vanilla French Toast will also be served. A Demurge cocktail featuring Michter's Rye Singe Barrel, Tawny port, cherry Heering, fresh lemon sour, bourbon barrel aged bitters and peacock egg white will accompany the meal. Sounds like a once in a lifetime experience for a great cause.
