Stephanie Izard is about to go head-to-head with a couple of pigs. Or rather, she'll pit them against each other and act as the referee. Sort of. On Sunday May 29, Izard will host the Dueling Pigs dinner at Girl & The Goat. The dinner, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m., will take place in the intimate Underground Goat private dining room that only holds 16 people.
During the night, Izard will serve pork from two different breeds—Swabian Hall and an Ossabaw Island/Mieshan crossbreed—that were raised on a farm outside Madison, Wis., by her friend, Dan Fox, the exec chef at the Madison Club. Tickets will cost $200 per person and are on sale now by calling 312-492-6262. But don't be surprised if they get snatched up immediately. Izard promises a night full of "pigs, taste tests, wine, beer, fun." And that's nothing to snort at.
UPDATE: 3:10 p.m. -- We just got word that the tickets are gone, but Izard said she think this will be the first of many fun dinners like this that she'll do.
