Bar DeVille Gets One-of-a-Kind Neon Chartreuse Sign

For Death Proof, Quentin Tarantino had a neon Chartreuse sign created to hang in a bar scene in which Tarantino plays a bartender who says, "The only liquor so good, they named a color after it." That sign now hangs in the Texas Chili Parlor in Austin, Texas and had been the only one of its kind. Until now.

Bar DeVille just hung its brand-new Chartreuse neon in the front window. Co-owner Brad Bolt loves making cocktails with Chartreuse and has a good relationship with the company. He called up one day and asked if they could get their own sign made. Clearly, the answer was yes. Now to honor the new sign, DeVille created a bunch of cocktails incorporating the French liqueur, all selling for $12. They also, of course, encourage doing straight shots.

If you want to dig into Chartreuse, you can try one of these, which Bolt created.

· Songbird: Gin, St. Germain, green Chartreuse and lemon
· Last Word: Gin, green Chartreuse, Maraschino and lime
· Hudson Street: Calvados, yellow Chartreuse, lemon, Peychaud's Bitters and lemon essence
· Lollygagger: Reposado Tequila, green Chartreuse, lime, chocolate bitters and orange essence
