Vegetarians, too, can delight in the greatness of the pillowy flour-topped potato buns at DMK Burger Bar. A lot of folks would use words like moist, juicy and bold to describe the burgers there, but it may come as a surprise when they're talking about the veggie patties. To DMK regulars—and yes, there are vegetarian ones—it's hardly shocking.
DMK serves two veggie burgers and each is a far cry from the dense, frozen bean-based shuffleboard pucks you get at the store. The self-proclaimed "best damn veggie burgers that ever hit your lips" are a clear source of pride there, crisped in oil (a little fry never hurt anything) and topped with aged cheddar, eggplant, tomato and pesto mayo. DMK also does a panko-breaded crispy portobello mushroom with fontina, arugula, marinated tomatoes and horseradish.
