Not that we need another reason to hit Rootstock, but we just got one: The Humboldt Park wine bar will start serving Sunday brunch. The Feast reports that Rootstock, known for having a well-curated wine, craft beer and small-plates menu, will begin doing Sunday brunch likely on May 15.
Chef Duncan Biddulph's menu will change on a weekly basis, highlighting seven to eight dishes that will include an omelet or frittata. Also look for bloody marys that will include different types of housemade spices as the base.
But almost more exciting than the news of brunch is the news that Rootstock is making its own cheese, starting with a ramp-infused mozzarella that Biddulph is turning into—OMG!—burrata. Swoon. Don't be surprised to see us with our faces pressed up against the window waiting for that to hit the menu.
