On last night's episode of Iron Chef America, Taxim's David Schneider took on Cat Cora in Battle Leg of Lamb. The chefs' dishes were judged by Michael Psilakis, PR person Karine Bakhoum, and Josh Applestone, butcher and owner of Fleisher's Grass-fed and Organic Meats (Kingston, NY).
Schneider looked to his Greek roots when preparing his dishes while Cora had a more global approach. In the end, Cora took the round and Schneider took his loss graciously. Eater National has full video of the judges scrutinizing the dishes and the ultimate decision.
In related ICA news, on May 15, the Windy City will take a bite out of the Big Apple when chef Todd Stein (The Florentine) goes head to head with Iron Chef Bobby Flay. No news yet on what they're preparing, but we can bet it has something to do with Italian cuisine. Yes, we checked our crystal ball.
