Paul Kahan started dabbling with his mom's cookbooks right around the same time he saw Ted Nugent for the first time. Coincidence? Probably not, but Maxim caught up with the Blackbird exec chef to discuss all things "snacks, grub and rock & roll" in its current "Eat to the Beat" column. Kahan thinks East Coast oysters and jamon Iberico bellota are the perfect meal starters while "London Calling" and "Sweet Jane" are great beginnings to albums. He'd throw a backyard BBQ for Joe Strummer, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonius Monk, Willie Nelson, Keith Richards and others and cook "grilled porchetta, homemade sausages, a couple chickens, vegetables from the garden." The beer, wine and whiskey would flow, clearly. [Maxim]
