After all the teasing, it looks like Brendan Sodikoff is saying it's time to make the doughnuts ... and start selling them. The Dining Diva reports that Sodikoff will open the Doughnut Vault alongside Gilt Bar on April 5, finally putting an end to the all the teasing of the sweet treats.
We actually got a sneak peek of the space last night (but apparently the Diva has special powers that got the opening date pried loose) and we can tell you it's tiny. Like super small. As in so small that no more than a few customers will be able to fit inside the space beyond antique-looking blue door at any given time.
Fortunately they'll eventually have a walk-up window to sell the doughnuts and Metropolis coffee through. Bring small bills—the doughnuts will cost you about $3 a piece, where you'll pay at the gilded vintage register. Coffee, however, is just a $1. And you can opt for the "half calorie" doughnut, which Sodikoff said they just give you half of a full one. Pretty funny.

UPDATE: We just got a text from Sodikoff saying that April 5 is not a firm opening date, but that the Doughnut Vault will open sometime between April 5 and 9.
