Izard Helps Create FamilyFarmed EXPO Programming; Great Chefs Gather For Localicious

Following growing popularity after last year's sold-out event, FamilyFarmed EXPO just announced the programming for its three-day convention taking place March 17-19 at the UIC Forum in University Village.

FamilyFarmed, jam packed with purveyors, cooking demos, workshops and more, lets you learn where you food comes from and how you can lead a healthier life by talking directly to farmers, growers and more.

This year, Stephanie Izard helped line up great chefs for the Good Food Festival's cooking demos on that Saturday. She'll speak and show off her skills along with Bill Kim (Urban Belly), Tony Mantuano (Spiaggia), Dale Levitski (Sprout), Jo Kaucher (Chicago Diner), Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh (Hearty), Paul Virant (Vie) and Chris Pandel (The Bristol). During each demo, two chefs will team up with a farmer.

Other speakers during the weekend include Stonyfield Farm's Gary Hirshberg and Growing Power's Will Allen, who will deliver the two keynote speeches.

But the big party will take place at Localicious Friday night March 18 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The $75 party brings together chefs from restaurants including Big Jones, City Provisions, Mana Food Bar, Old Town Social, Sugar Toad, Uncommon Ground, Osteria Via Stato and many more. Get your tickets now before they sell out.
