The term "foodie" gets tossed about a lot these days and pretty much anyone who regularly watches the Food Network or shops at farmers' markets can say they're a foodie. But now OpenTable has released a list of the top Chicago restaurants that are "fit for foodies," a list pulled together by post-dining feedback from nearly 630,000 diners who made reservations using the OpenTable system.
Looks like people love Mexique, the French-influenced West Town Mexican restaurant, with Dale Levitski's Sprout coming up second. At first we were surprised that avec hadn't made the list, as it's possibly the most foodie spot in Chicago, but then we remembered that since it doesn't take reservations, it couldn't qualify.
The rest of the list is pretty solid, even including June restaurant in Peoria, which sources nearly all of its ingredients from local farms in Downstate Illinois. So who else made the list? Read on:
