After some confusion earlier in the week, it has been confirmed that a Chicago legend has passed away. Marie Wuczynski, the namesake of iconic late-night Bucktown tavern Marie's Riptide Lounge, died earlier this week. Wuczynski, 88, died of heart failure at home, which was above the bar. Her big smile and welcoming nature made her one of Chicago's most loved tavern owners. Mass will be held Feb. 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Angels in Bucktown. [Chicagoist/Breaking News]
