Spoiler Alert: If you do not want to know what happened on last night's episode of Top Chef, stop reading now.
Last night the chefs were brought to Southfork Ranch, made famous by the television show Dallas, to cook for the Cattle Baron's Ball. They were to work as one team preparing a four-course meal that included two courses made with steak. The chefs quickly divided themselves into teams for each of the courses and started planning.
Shortly after the prepping began, Ty-Lor Boring sticks a knife through his hand while cutting the steaks. He goes to the emergency room, and is more worried about getting eliminated than stopping the bleeding.
Heather Terhune (Sable Kitchen) finishes her dessert course early and takes a leadership role within the team making sure everyone is on task. She is not happy with Beverly Kim (Aria) who spends her whole time cutting shrimp and it looks like, according to the previews next week, that this feud is here to stay. It remains to be seen whether or not this is television manufactured drama, or these two chefs really dislike each other.
Despite the drama, the chefs get all of their food out and unfortunately the judges find most of it to be mediocre. They eventually send Whitney Otawka home for serving undercooked potato gratin. They are impressed with a few of the chefs and call Chris Jones (Moto), Nyesha Arrington and Heather Terhune to the judges table. Heather wins for her right-side-up Texas peach cake and goes home with a new Toyota Venza (which received an obnoxious amount of product placement throughout the episode).
Unfortunately on Last Chance Kitchen, Chuy Valencia (Chilam Balam) loses his chef coat to newly eliminated Whitney.
