Rub Elbows and Get Educated at a Food Truck Meetup

People have been speculating since late last year that the city would pass new legislation sometime in 2011 that would allow chefs to cook on board food trucks. Well, it's almost the end of the year and no such legislation has been passed, but more and more trucks keep appearing on Chicago's streets and more are likely to enter the fray next year. So, on Dec. 12 the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce is hosting a food truck meetup to help people learn more about what it takes to own and operate a food truck in Chicago.

The meetup will take place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Chamber of Commerce at 200 E. Randolph. The meeting is free, but you are asked to register so they can gauge how many people will attend. During the three-hour session, food truck owners and operators can interact with restaurant owners and Chicago residents to learn about and network on food trucks in Chicago. And food truck owners are encouraged to bring food for people to sample to help further spread the goodness that can be had onboard the trucks.
