There's something pretty cool about a pill being able to alter your taste buds. And it's a mission of Moto chef Homaro Cantu to use said pill to change the way food is viewed and consumed around the world. He and chef Ben Roche recently did a TEDx presentation on the miracle berry, which messes with your taste buds into thinking sometimes inedible foods actually taste good. This could potentially turn a variety of food into resources and change how people eat. But sometimes, Cantu just likes to "charge [people] a boat load of cash for this and see what they think." Turns out pureed hay and crabapples taste like barbecue sauce. Eater National has the whole video. [~E~]
