RIVER NORTH—Chef Laurent Tourondel's BLT American Brasserie is opening tonight. The restaurant, at 500 W. Superior, apparently has been physically ready, but just got final city approval today so they decided to open for dinner at 5:30. Go get in line now. [EaterWire]

RIVER EASTQuay Restaurant has announced Dan Marquis as its exec chef, which they found through a Food Network competition on the new show Chef Hunter. The restaurant will host a free viewing party on Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. when the episode airs.
