American Flatbread Now Targeting a Spring 2012 Opening

More than a year ago American Flatbread said it was going to open in the spring of 2011. Well, it still hasn't opened, but it's supposedly still coming. The local franchisee, Fred Gale, apparently hit a few bumps, seemingly all having to do with the Vermont-based parent company.

Gale said everything on his end was going well from hiring a contractor to obtaining both building permits and a liquor license. It appears that things are back on track and Gale said he hopes to get things moving by the end of January to open sometime in the spring, a full year after originally hoping to open. He added that if the American Flatbread deal falls through for whatever reason, he'll rebrand and open with a similar concept, which would include an on-site nano-brewery.
