LINCOLNWOOD—After moving its operations to the suburbs after having a successful neighborhood bake shop on the west side, Rolf's Patisserie has shuttered operations. Citing high operating costs and financing an expansion project, the baker has closed, but Grub Street speculates it never recovered from a staph outbreak in its food about a year ago. [Grub Street]

OLD IRVINGManzo's Ristorante and Lounge, an old school Italian joint that opened in 1956, closed on Nov. 29 after 20 years in that particular location (3210 W. Irving Park). A note on the restaurant's Facebook page said the owners will be opening a new restaurant concept under a new name soon. [LTH Forum]

RIVER NORTHPie Guys Pizza (405 N. Wabash) closed a few weeks ago, but new owners took over and renovated the space. Bongiorno's Italian Deli & Pizzeria opened last week and has pizzas, sandwiches and salads and will soon add homemade pasta and soup. And yes, they still deliver. [EaterWire]
