Pizzeria Owners Busted for Drug Ring

DeLucas-sm.jpgAnd who says nothing exciting happens in the suburbs? On Friday, the owners of Buffalo Grove's DeLuca's Pizzeria and Catering, which opened over the summer, were arrested for allegedly having a role in a drug trafficking ring that brought heroin into the United States from Mexico. The couple, Maria Garza and Carmelo Rios, were charged with criminal drug conspiracy for allegedly helping arrange the distribution of the herion along with methamphetamine and marijuana in the Chicago area and on the East Coast. The couple was arrested after a six-month investigation that turned up more than $900,000 in illegal drugs. So if you're waiting for your pizza delivery, it may take a little while.
